SMA Solar Technology AG—Press Release Roland Bent Joins Supervisory Board of SMA Solar Technology AG Niestetal, February 3, 2015—On January 28, 2015, the Kassel District Court appointed Roland Bent, a member of the management of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG, to the Supervisory Board of SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA/FWB: S92). This appointment of a new shareholder representative was due to the death of SMA’s founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Dr.-Ing. h. c. Günther Cramer on January 6, 2015. The electrical engineer Roland Bent has been a member of the management of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG, an international market leader in electric connection, interface and automation technology, since 2001. He is in charge of the areas of marketing, product development as well as innovation and technology management. His responsibilities also include managing the company’s international research and development centers. “We are happy to have gained another highly qualified individual for the SMA Supervisory Board in Roland Bent. Alongside his work at Phoenix Contact, Roland Bent also has roles in various industrial and scientific organizations such as the German National Platform for Electric Mobility, the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI) and the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE (DKE). Since 2010 he has been a guest professor at Tongji University in Shanghai. The SMA Supervisory Board will elect a new chairman at its meeting on February 11, 2015.
